Over the past month, the construction team successfully finished the demolition phase of the project. Active construction is expected to begin in January.
Cowford Chophouse Owner Announces Executive Chef
Jacques Klempf, a founding partner in Forking Amazing Restaurants and owner of the Cowford Chophouse, has named Ian Lynch as the Executive Chef of the Cowford Chophouse.Lynch is currently the restaurant group’s Executive Chef. He will transition into his new role this summer.
Since joining the FAR group in 2012, he has served as Executive Chef for all three restaurants in its portfolio: Ovinté, Bistro Aix and Il Desco. In his new role, he will manage all back-of-house hiring and training, menu development and kitchen operations.
Klempf cited Lynch’s expertise in diverse culinary styles and his talent for training other chefs as two reasons for his promotion to the top culinary position for the FAR group’s most ambitious concept to date.
“Ian has been an integral part of our team since 2012, and has taken an active role in all of our concepts to date. Through the years, we have had the privilege of supporting his talent, professionalism and passion with new opportunities as our portfolio grew. He is the very best person to lead the culinary program at the Cowford Chophouse, and we look forward to toasting his success when it opens this fall,” said Klempf.
“I am excited for this new opportunity to expand my creativity, and also humbled by Jacques’ confidence in me to lead the culinary team at the Cowford Chophouse,” said Lynch. “It’s an honor to be part of such a great company and I can’t wait to help give Jacksonville the local steakhouse it deserves.”
The Cowford Chophouse will create approximately 50 new, local jobs in preparation for its opening this fall. The restaurant will begin hiring for management-level roles this summer.
Lynch earned his culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University – Denver. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management from Northern Arizona University.
