Rotisserie Chicken Ramen
Purchase a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and you are halfway to dinner.

Back in the days of weekly Blockbuster runs, my sister and I stumbled across the Brittany Murphy film Ramen Girl. There is a soft spot in my heart for predictable fairy tale ending rom-coms, and in an effort not to ruin the entire premise of the film, Brittany Murphy’s character ventures to Japan where she learns to speak Japanese, makes really good ramen, falls in love and lives happily ever after.

Authenticity police, please hold your fire. I know that’s not how real life love stories work and I definitely know that mastering ramen takes more than a little practice and is a far cry from a walk in the park. Part of what is so appealing about these movies, however, is the simplicity and ease that comes with knowing exactly what the one problem is going to be and exactly how the story is going to end. What's wonderful (and similar) about this Rotisserie Chicken Ramen is that even though you know in your heart that it isn't truly authentic, it feels satisfying and fulfilling nonetheless. Plus, it is a major step up from the 25-cent grocery story ramen and if you make your stock ahead of time, it’s just as quick.
