St. Augustine Seafood Company Announces Grand Opening
From a fish & chips burrito and chowder fries to Florida citrus salad and buffalo shrimp basket, St. Augustine Seafood Company (SASco) is proud to announce it is now open and ready to serve the community.
St. Augustine Seafood Company offers a small, focused menu chock-full of classic seafood favorites inspired by the city’s rich culinary and fishing history. Located on St. George Street (within the Colonial Quarter and Colonial Oak Music Park), the brand new restaurant boasts two dining options: a full-service lounge with full bar in the Triay House and fast-casual, counter-service eatery in the Florencia House with outdoor seating available.
“When creating the menu for SASco, I kept in mind the cornerstone of our concept, which is local, sustainable food for the people,” explained Chef John Whitworth, head chef at St. Augustine Seafood Company. “It is a simple menu that shines with its focus on fresh and local ingredients; modern twists on time-honored seafood favorites.”
St. Augustine Seafood Company’s commitment to sustainable, local seafood means that the restaurant’s menu boards will be updated daily to include the name of the boat that caught the shrimp, snapper or other seafood that ends up on your plate.
“We’re dedicated to supporting the St. Augustine community in any way that we can,” said Michael Croce, president of Pat Croce & Company. “We’ve partnered with the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum to donate $1 from every sale of our Lighthouse Lemonade to the museum’s maritime archaeology programs. We were also pretty excited to win second place in the recent Great Chowder Debate, a St. Augustine institution. Not bad for newbies on the scene!”
St. Augustine Seafood Company is located at 33 St. George Street in St. Augustine. Hours are Sunday - Thursday, 11 am to 9 pm. Friday and Saturday, 11 am - 11 pm. Visit their website for more information.
