farmer florist workshop
Learn flower farming and design at this hands-on workshop.

Swallowtail Farm and The Conservatorie are excited to offer a collaborative hands-on flower farming and design workshop. Nestled in the rolling hills of North Central Florida, students will find inspiration from fields of seasonal flowers in peak bloom.

Day one will focus on growing fundamentals, including soil fertility, variety sourcing & selection, harvesting & post harvest handling. Swallowtail farmer-florist and founder of Ladybug Blooms, Mariana Riehm, will lead this first day. Mariana has 10 years farming experience in North Central Florida. Day two will focus on floral design including personal flowers and centerpieces. Amy Armstrong of The Conservatorie Floral will lead Day two. Amy has ten years experience in floral design and will lead the group in the technique and artistry of arranging flowers. Fables Catering & Such will provide lunch both days and will feature organic produce sources from the farm. It’s sure to be a weekend full of hands-on learning and creativity all while being surrounded by the beauty of the farms natural surroundings.

Come enjoy and learn at this inaugural intimate event and meet like-minded flower lovers from the surrounding area and beyond. All skill levels welcome. All skill levels welcome.
