Bee Friends Farm Honey Bee Festival
Bee Friends Farm is celebrating National Honey Bee Day with their second annual Honey Bee Festival, and you're invited! Join Bee Friends Farm to learn about the sweet process of beekeeping, the lives of the bees and honey, from hive to bottle. The festival will be inside at the Fairgrounds (near Manifest Distilling and Intuition Ale Works), a spacious and air-conditioned spot. In addition to shopping with more than 60 local vendors, folks will be able to do a full honey tasting at the Bee Friends Farm Honey Tasting Bar and purchase honey as well.
There will be several parts to the festival; Buzy Bee Marketplace, Bee a Kid Zone hosted by the Clay County Stingers, (a 4-H club dedicated to young beekeepers), Honey Bee Educational Annex, Honey Tasting Bar. The Buzy Bee Marketplace features over 60 amazing local artisans like like Tea Nation USA, Lucy Lou's, 1748 Bakehouse, Anney Life Designs and many, many more.
The Bee A Kid Zone will feature hands-on modules for children to learn about bee biology, how honey is produced and discover more about the environment around them. At other stations, kids can craft art and plant a seed. The Honey Bee Educational Annex will be hosting engaging, educational speakers with sessions that extend throughout the day. There will be sessions on Backyard Beekeeping hosted by the Jacksonville Beekeepers Association, Mead Making led by Phillip Maple, Head Brewer at Wicked Barley, and Planting for Pollinators led by Tim Armstrong of Eat Your Yard Jax and more.
