Strawberry Festival Farm Brunch
The first event of the new year in the Tri-County Agritourism Corridor – a Farm Brunch and Family Strawberry Festival -- takes place on March 3 under the big Rype & Readi tent at the crossroads of SR 207 and SR 305 in Elkton.
Family fun will include cow-catching cabbage catapulting into an adjacent pasture plus live music, kite flying, a petting zoo and hay rides.
The brunch menu will feature strawberry pancakes for openers and strawberry key lime shortcake for sweet send-offs, and in between savory farm fresh scrambled eggs, country sausage and maple wood smoked bacon, biscuits from scratch with local honey and jam, fresh kale salad and Elkton home-fried potatoes.
“It’s all about celebrating this amazing corridor of family farms still with us in St. Johns County,” says Rype & Readi proprietor Jean-Sebastien Gros. “Let’s keep showing people how important these farms are to our food supply, to our economy, and to what makes living here so good.”
The Tri-County Agritourism Corridor is a multi-partnered project to help save family farms led by the nonprofit St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop Alliance.
