REI Climb For A Cause
Anna Hertel, a member of the REI Climb for a Cause Summit Team - Jacksonville will be summiting Mt. Rainier, the most glaciated peak in the lower 48 states, in an effort to raise money and awareness for Washington's National Park Fund. All money raised will help support projects in Science & Research, Youth & Families, and Volunteers & Stewardship. Anna will also be pushing for the summit with a personal mission to inspire the next generation of young women and others to protect these beautiful lands, dream big, and never stop exploring.
In partnership with Intuition Ale Works, The Edge Rock Gym, and REI, Native Sun is sponsoring the event with a Make Your Own Trail Mix Bar for attendees to enjoy before they settle in for a screening of the film Made to be Broken. Made to be Broken is a film about Karl Meltzer and his Appalachian Trail speed record. The film itself was directed and shot by a Jacksonville-based production company.
All the sponsors are looking forward to working with the local outdoor and environmental community to bring this night of adventure, local craft beer, delicious food, and comradery to life!
No registration is necessary, but a suggested donation of $20, going directly to Washington's National Park Fund, will be collected at the door. Stay up-to-date via Anna Hertel's Facebook event.
