Acai Citrus Bowl

Acai berries are the fruit of a palm tree found in sub-tropical regions of Central and South America. They are chock-full of antioxidants and add a flavorful boost to any morning routine.

Ingredients

Acai Citrus Bowl
  • 1 1/2 cups acai berry juice
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon toasted coconut flakes
  • 1 tablespoon toasted pepitas
  • 1/2 sliced orange
  • 1 tablespoon blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon raspberries

Instructions

Blend all the Acai Citrus Bowl ingredients together in a blender until smooth. The consistency should be thick with a soft ice cream like texture. Scrape into a bowl, then top with toppings. 

SUBSTITUTIONS
Swap out orange juice for 1/2 cup coconut milk, almond milk, or almond butter

ALTERNATIVE TOPPING OPTIONS
Granola, flaked coconut, sliced banana or kiwi, chopped almonds, goji berries, chopped pecans, sunflower seeds, strawberries, pomegranate, pineapple chunks or mango.
