Ingredients

SERVINGS: 1
  • 2 ounces bourbon whiskey
  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 1/4 ounce turbinado or demerara syrup, to taste
  • 1 small piece orange peel

Instructions

1. Combine the first 4 ingredients in a mixing glass and stir until chilled, about 20 seconds.

2. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large cube.

3. Use a peeler to get a nice peel from the orange, taking care to not peel your fingernail off.

4. Express the citrus by holding the peel with both hands between your thumb and forefinger and twisting the peel over a cocktail. Rub the peel on the rim of the glass for extra flavor.

5. Drop the peel into the cocktail.
