Pairing Whiskey with Food
Cocktails like Whiskey Matsuri go well with umami-rich dishes.
To make umami honey:
1. Combine water and honey in a saucepan over low heat and stir until honey is dissolved. Add umami powder and stir until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
To make cocktail:
2. Add whiskey, umami honey, bitters and ice to mixing glass and stir. Strain over large rock ice in an old fashioned glass and garnish with lemon peel.
