Whiskey Matsuri

Suntory Whiskey has a subtly sweetness yet spicy finish with hints of ginger. This cocktail, called Whiskey Matsuri (matsuri means festival in Japanese), is a riff on whiskey sour and features yuzu juice, Asian pear and fresh rosemary.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 1
  • Ice
  • 1/2 Nishi or Asian pear, sliced
  • 2 ounces Suntory Toki Whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon yuzu juice or lemon juice
  • 2 ounces simple syrup (1 part sugar dissolved in 1 part water)
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary, for garnish
  • 1 slice pear, for garnish

Instructions

1. Fill a rocks glass with ice.

2. Place pear slices into cocktail shaker and muddle to release the juice.

3. Add whiskey, lemon juice and simple syrup. Cap and shake. Strain drink into rocks glass.

4. Garnish with pear slice and rosemary. Just before serving, torch the end of the rosemary.
