An Outing at Posting House
Occasionally one of my married friends will ask for a recommendation on a good place for a brew where they can dress up on a date night. Or my guy friends are looking for somewhere different to get together and have a drink. Fortunately, Posting House in San Marco is ideal for both types of occasions. This contemporary style British pub offers a casual chic atmosphere serving select craft beers, wine, light bites and one of their trademark offerings, sweet and dry sherry.
For those married couples who are still "dating" each other, the Snug Room in the back of Posting House is a perfect spot at the beginning or end to a lovely evening. Gentlemen, don't worry that you have to wear a suit. A clean polo with jeans or fitted drawstring pants with high top sneakers is a nice touch. The love of your life will appreciate you sharing a rather delicious spread of Posting House's charcuterie boards supplemented by The Bread and Board. I highly recommend pairing the charcuterie with one of their house wines or finish off with the sweet sherry.
Posting House makes a great spot for the guys who just want to hang out but feel a little fancier. With cooler weather, it’s time to bust out the flannel or long sleeve Henley shirts, dark wash jeans or fall colored pants. The chill in the air is an invitation to bring out those boots, the double monks and yes even your favorite pair of vans. This is also the best time to bust out those festive socks that often have some kind of tribal print with multicolor or even some novelty socks! What will really bring the guys together is getting the Rosemary Chips with the cheesy Pub Spread. Wash that down with the Oktoberfest Brew, House Lager of the Week or a Belgian Ale and I promise you'll have a great time catching up.
One of the best features of Posting House is their love for supporting Jacksonville's rich legacy of supporting jazz music. Every Sunday they offer live jazz sessions which is a perfect setting for any date night or a guys’ hangout. Check out what's become one of my personal favorite bars my hometown has to offer.
