Community Loaves is a neighborhood bakery in Murray Hill, Jacksonville. It started in 2011 as an organic bike-delivered subscription bakery. Sarah, one of the founders, and Meredith, the other half of the baking duo, met in the fall of 2012 when Meredith moved home to Jacksonville. Sarah was looking for a new baking partner and Meredith had just completed an apprenticeship at an organic sourdough bakery in England. Sarah has since moved along and Meredith now runs the show. They bake organic, sourdough bread and whole grain pastries daily at their Bread Shop, and also serve sandwiches, organic coffee and tea, amongst other goodies. Open Tuesday - Friday, 8 am - 6 pm. Atlantic Beach City Market

Conveniently located at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, the Atlantic Beach City Market offers local, healthy, fresh and green foods to beaches residents.

This market is a collaboration between the City of Atlantic Beach, Atlantic Beach Urban Farms, Baptist Health, BEAM, Dig Local Network, Jacksonville University, New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and the Clinton Health Matters Initiative, an initiative of the Clinton Foundation.  It will serve the Mayport community, a USDA defined food desert, with weekly access to a point of sale for fresh produce, meats, dairy and other items as well as nutrition education and twice monthly health screening opportunities.

*The market, managed by Dig Local Network, will be open every Friday from 3:00-6:00 p.m., rain or shine, 52 weeks a year. Recipients of SNAP/EBT will be able to double up to $20 per visit for Florida-grown fruits and vegetables.

The Palm Valley Farmers Market is located in the heart of Palm Valley in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It is held every Tuesday from 1 pm to 5:30 pm at the Palm Valley Community Center. The market features local vendors who provide products such as farm-fresh produce, eggs, milk, fresh-baked breads, pies,cookies, fresh seafood, direct-trade, grade-A coffee, artisan jams, cheeses, and homemade biscotti.

Regular vendors include: The Harvest Basket (produce, eggs, milk, cheese, bread), Fish Chic Seafood, Café Llano Bonito (coffee & biscotti), and the Little Black Box Baked Goods (jams, pies, cookies). Directly across the street from the market is also GYO Greens, an aquaponics farm that provides locally grown micro-greens and other produce to local restaurants. They open their farm to the public every Tuesday from 2-5pm so market guests can purchase directly from them and see their operation in action.

Catch 27

Catch 27 is located in the heart of the historic district in downtown St. Augustine on a narrow brick street, customary of the Nation's Old City. Known for serving fresh, locally caught seafood from Florida waters, their chef takes special care in sourcing ingredients responsibly and it's not uncommon to find him making a weekend visit to the local farmers market. 

As such, almost everything at Catch 27 is made from scratch with seasonal ingredients and local produce. Fresh fish featured on the menu often includes lesser-know local favorites like sheepshead, triggerfish, flounder or black drum. Of course, the shrimp is local too. With a recently build-out of a bar complete, their bar program is now up and running with cocktails guided by the same seasonal priciples found in their kitchen.  From yummy house-made taco sauces (which must be tried) to a flavorful plate featuring the catch of the day, Catch 27 will not disappoint. Their dreamy dining courtyard and surpring favorites at the bar (like a Kalimotxo, cola and wine) --- Catch 27 is truly a farm-to-table gem you should not miss. 

M Shack Burgers

Open since late 2011, M Shack Burgers redefines the old-fashioned burger joint with fresh ingredients prepared in a hip environment. And, don't even get us started on their hand-spun milkshakes! (Or the booze-y versions for adults). Berry Good Farms

Berry Good Farms on the Go is a food truck that offers up seasonal menus using produce grown and harvested at Berry Good Farms on campus at the North Florida School of Special Education. What makes this mobile eatery really unique, however, is not only its fresh, innovative, healthy approach to food -- but also the care that's been taken to prepare it.

Students in the NFSSE culinary program learn to dry herbs, fruits and vegetables using a food dehydrator; mix ingredients and bake goods such as muffins; and prepare pesto and hummus using ingredients from the on-campus farm. All production items are then sold on the food truck, offering another avenue of revenue to support the school's project. Each student in the program is also instructed on proper customer service -- so each and every time you visit Berry Good Farms on the Go, you're almost guaranteed a win-win-win: good food, great cause, wonderful service.

Blackfly Restaurant

Since June of 2012, Blackfly Restaurant has been a local favorite in St. Augustine for fresh, locally caught seafood and farm-to-table fare. Located on Anastasia Boulevard in a space inspired by travel and fly-fishing, Blackfly Restaurant's upscale menu also features a variety of moderately priced dishes, like brick oven pizzas and sushi, for those looking for casual eats in comfortable dining environment. The restaurant's scratch-kitchen approach highlights culinary technique and a careful consideration of ingredients which shines through in a well-developed menu. If you're looking for a seafood restaurant in St. Augustine, Blackfly is a good bet for a local catch. With a temperature-controlled wine cellar on-site, their libations list is robust too, including wine, craft beer, and the usual offerings from a full bar. Down to Earth Farm is a small, sustainable farm on the west side of Jacksonville. Their goal is to grow healthy, delicious veggies in a manner that is gentle on our planet. This means using compost and OMRI listed products instead of chemical fertilizers to feed our plants, using organic potting soil, and fighting bugs and disease with responsible techniques such as crop rotation and regular scouting. They use no chemical pesticides or herbicides.

Created in 2012, the Orange Park Farmers' and Arts' Market runs from 10 am - 3 pm on the first and third Sundays of each month, September - June.
